Formed in 2008 by Thizz Nation and SMC Recordings(SMCE), Town Thizzness has proven to be a dynamite move for the two independent music industry giants. The “town” of Town Thizzness notoriety is Oakland and releases under the Town Thizzness umbrella celebrate artists and projects from the famed city.

“The concept is to take buzz worthy acts or conceptual projects from Oakland, CA- make great albums, sell them cheap to introduce them and slowly but surely start building fans,” explains Stretch, the CEO of Thizz Nation.

This is not unfamiliar territory for the two labels, Thizz Nation & SMC have had joint past success with 2007’s Da Bidness, which featured Bay Area super group; PSD Tha Drivah, Keak Da Sneak & Messy Marv and the successful 2007 summer release, “Da Baydestrian,” from breakout artist, Mistah F.A.B. The two labels are looking to continue their trend of quality Bay Area albums with several new releases this year.
